You have to realize that the dating game has rules just like any other game. It helps if you know the rules of the game before you play. One important thing to know is that most girls are too polite to ever give you a flat-out rejection. Over the years, women have developed subtle ways of rejecting men that don't involve doing it face-to-face.

Generally, most girls like to leave you smiling, keeping alive the hope of seeing them again in the future--even if the girl really never wants to see you again. The thinking here is that an empty promise will give you a few nights of happiness, whereas a quick rejection will only bring instant unhappiness and hurt feelings. Most girls prefer to give guys a glimmer of hope, as false as that hope may be.

Unfortunately, most Shy Guys tend to be hopeless romantics, and they keep hoping that glimmer will develop into a bright glow. In order to save the Shy Guys of the world future heartache, I've compiled this list of tactful things girls say when they are rejecting you, though you may not know it at the time.

1) I'm just going to the ladies room. I'll be right back.	I have no interest in you. I'm not coming back from the ladies room.
2) I promise I'll be right back! I swear I will!	She's definitely not coming back. The more she insists she will be "right back" from the ladies room, the greater the odds you will never see her again.
3) I like you as a friend.	I have no interest in you sexually.
4) I'll meet you at the club.	I'm not going to the club. (Girls never meet any guy anywhere. They either go with you, or they're not going.)
5) I come here all the time. I'll see you the next time you're here.	I never come here. I've never been here before, and I'll never come back again!
*6) I never give out my number. Why don't you give me your* number instead?**	I don't want you to have my phone number. I'm never going to call you!
7) I'll give you my work number.	I don't want you to have my home number.
8) That guy is just a friend.	I'm sleeping with that guy.
9) I'm really good friends with the band.	I'm having sex with some guys in the band.
10) I'm not sure when I can see you again, because I'm really busy.	I'm not that busy. I just don't ever want to see you again!
11)I really don't want to date anyone right now.	I'll date anyone! I just don't want to date you!
12) I'll call you right back!	Don't hold your breath!
13) I've got your number!	I threw away your number!
14) I'm not allowed to date customers.	You frighten me!
